Small Patch
A small patch is a small area (less than 5 ft^2 [0.5 m^2]) where the original pavement has been removed and replaced by a filler material. Patches larger than 5 ft^2 (0.5 m^2) are classified as "large" patches, and are described in the "Large Patch" section.
| Severity | Distress Example | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Low | | Patch is functioning well with very little or no deterioration. |
| Medium | | Patch has deterioration, moderate spalling around the edges, or both. Patch material can be dislodged with considerable effort (minor FOD potential). |
| High | | Patch deterioration (e.g., spalling at joints or cracking within the patch) has progressed to a state that warrants replacement. |
